    1. Reply to this post and I will assign you a letter (and I'll even be kind and promise not to give anyone X!)
    2. List seven songs that start with that letter.
    3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

I was given the letter M by my friend chalavienne!

    1. Madman Mora Blues - Boiled in Lead A fun song, and it uses my letter twice in a row!
    2. Mama Told Me Not to Come - Three Dog Night I always loved this song growing up-they played it pretty often on Boston's Oldies 103.3-WODS.
    3. Man in a Hat - The Klezmatics A fast-paced bulgar off their album "Jews with Horns. (The album title is all the more funny because when my grandfather served in WWII, some of his fellow soldiers asked him to take off his helmet, and then asked what happened to horns. :/ Apparently, he was the first Jew they met. :P)
    4. Manana Iguana - Bobby McFerrin Bobby McFerrin rocks! I saw him at Dartmouth a few years back, and I was just blown away by his talent and range. This is one of my favorite McFerrin's-it showcases his range, vocal percussion, and humor!
    5. The Masochism Tango - Tom Leherer. C'mon-it's Tom Lehrer. Besides, he rhymes "Your heart is either stone or mahogany, that's why I'm in such exquisite agony." What more could you want?! :)
    6. Messin' With the Kid - The Blues Brothers Off their double platinum album, Briefcase full of Blues, Elwood, Jake, and the gang regale us with a Junior Wells classic.
    7. Mistress Snow & Mary Jane Green - Eddie from Ohio (I love Eddie from Ohio-they have great harmonies and great lyrics. This is a very pretty number-lead vocalist Julie Murphy Wells does a terrific job.)

BONUSES (because there are so many wonderful songs that start with the letter M!)
    8. Mississippi - John Phillips John Phillips of the Mamas and Papas was an amazing songwriter-beyond writing and arranging for the Mamas and Papas, he also worked with the Stones and co-wrote the Beach Boy's legendary song Kokomo. Mississippi was a minor hit off of his 1969 album "John, the Wolf King of L.A." that I am fond of.
    9. The Monorail Song - The Simpsons From the classic episode "Marge vs. the Monorail" (written by Conan O'Brien), it features Phil Hartman who guest starred as the slipper Lyle Lanley.
    10. The Monster Mash - Bobby "Boris" Pickett One of the all-time best halloween songs!
    11. Monty Got a Raw Deal - R.E.M. One of my favorite R.E.M. songs...
    12. Moonlight Sonata - Beethoven One of my favorite classical pieces. It was the only piece my mom knew how to play on the piano, and I have very fond memories of her playing it when I was little. (She hasn't touched the piano in ages, and I'm not sure if she can still play it or not....)
    13. Mother Nature's Son - The Beatles A gorgeous Lennon/McCartney song off of the White Album. I also love the King Singer's cover.
    14. Motherless Child - Eric Clapton. My favorite Clapton song (and I love Clapton!)
    15. Mother, Mother -UPenn's Off the Beat. An awesome a cappella cover of Tracy Bonham's song-the lead singer on this does an amazing job, and it's a great arrangement, too.
    16. My Cellmate Thinks I'm Sexy - Cledus T. Judd So wrong. So funny.
